A English Barleywine da Loba acaba de ganhar a medalha de bronze da Copa Cervezas de América 2017, realizada na cidade de Santiago (Chile), de 16 a 22 de outubro. A cerveja possui um sabor maltoso, forte, intenso, complexo, com várias camadas de notas que remetem a pão e biscoito até as que lembram nozes, torrada escura, caramelo escuro, toffee e/ou melado. Seu caráter forte e maltado dominante pode sobrepor os sabores dos alimentos que o acompanham, exigindo sua harmonização com alimentos mais potentes como feijoadas, ostras, rabadas, queijos duros e até tortas de limão. Indicada também para acompanhar uma dose de bebida destilada ou um bom charuto.
A Cervejaria Loba está instalada em uma área de cinco mil metros quadrados, dentro de uma fazenda na cidade de Santana dos Montes. Possui hoje 18 rótulos e uma capacidade mensal de produção de 40 mil litros. Entre suas receitas está a premiada Strong Scotch Ale, com notas de malte torrado e defumado e 9% de teor alcoólico, medalhista no Concurso Brasileiro das Cervejas, em Blumenau em 2017 e na Copa Cervezas de América de 2016. Os novíssimos lançamentos da marca são a session IPA Delatora, em alusão ao momento político vivido pelo país, e a quadruppel Cabulosa.
A Copa Cervezas de América é um concurso internacional, onde participam cervejas de todo o continente Americano e as que mais se destacam são premiadas com medalhas de ouro, prata e bronze. O concurso atua como uma plataforma anual de encontro da cultura cervejeira latino-americana, promovendo e proporcionando o intercâmbio de conhecimento entre os expoentes do meio.
